No matter how many times I delete the rows of unused and non-existing doors from the my door schedule, more rows just keep appearing and replacing them. It's like the Sorcerer's Apprentice !! Any help please ?Door schedule with rogue instances.jpg

Are the doors coming from nested shared door families in the parent door Family -- or any other Family in the Project?  You could nest a shared "Door" categorized  family into any category of family.

Hi, no nested families in the door family. But, the doors are coming from a link drawing.

I have overcome the problem in a way by filtering the schedule but it doesn't seem the right way to do this

Hi Stephen,

I think barthbradley's input is solid, but a related idea is that they are curtain panel doors or perhaps elevator doors. That would explain why so many of the values are empty. If so, you could limit them from the schedule by using a filter for one of your required fields like, Thickness="has no value" or some other custom property.

Cheers,

Add Family and Type parameter to see what family create these issue. I do encounter non-existance curtainpanel door will add to the door schedule. It is very difficult to track since it won't show up in the physical model. So you have to select it from schedule and swap it out with curtainpanel.

Coming from a Link?  I thought you said in your initial post that the "rogue" doors were non-existent/unused doors.  Anyways, if you don't want the Schedule to include Linked doors, then uncheck "Include Elements  in Link".

BTW: the Shared Door Family could be nested into any Category of Model Family - not just Doors.  It wouldn't necessarily need to be a Door.  For instance, a Casework Family could have in it a nested cabinet door family than someone decided to categorized as a "Door".  FWIW.

unchecking the include links has removed these doors and filters have ensured the schedule includes only those doors within the project. Thank you all for your help

I recommend you change "Mark" to "Type and Name" and sort by this.
