Does anyone know the right workflow to bring Rhino geometry into Revit as a Generic Model and have it editable in Revit.
Attached picture is just a reference of the test model.
As of now I have looked over many possibilities to bring Rhino to Revit and failed almost all of it.
I have tried bringing Rhino as different file types too, for example: 3dm, sat, dwg and skp. They do bring in the geometry but I am not able to edit the geometry in Revit.
I've even tried bringing them in a family and bring into the project that way, It won't let me edit when import to the family.
Tried, model in place too! Didn't work!!!
Solution(s) to this will be highly appreciated.
Why don't you just model the Rhino geometry in Revit with Revit? I mean, if you want it to be EDITABLE in Revit, there's no other way.
The geometry is not the box (attached picture was a test file).
We have a project where the building facades are already modelled in Rhino, and now had to do some quick renovations outside, so it would be efficient to just bring in the complex geometry from Rhino.
Would be great if it is editable.
I believe you need to use Rhino Inside Revit with various Grasshopper scripts developed specifically designed to turn Rhino geometry into Revit entities. There are a series of videos introducing this on YouTube.
I did try Rhino-Inside, it is just not bringing in the geometry at all, giving the error (attached) always.
Did contact the Plug-in people, haven't heard back anything yet!
You will never be able to edit imported geometry from Rhino in Revit. Rhino Inside Revit helps to sync Revit components when you edit the geometry in Rhino. The bottom line is you still need to edit the geometry in Rhino.
