Revit Window projection

Hi,

I am encountering this problem where I want the window overhead projections of 1st floor to be visible in the 1st floor plan view with the hidden/overhead line style. But no matter what I do I am not able show them in the desired way in the plan.

Instead Revit is showing me the window projections of the Ground floor ,in the 1st floor plan view.

FYI, The window projections have been modelled as floor on each lintel level of respective floors.

Please tell me how to show overhead projections in plan view.

Floors category do not show as overhead.

  1. You can model them as a loadable family of a category that shows in plan views when within view rang.
  2. You can add the overhead detail lines in the window family itself
  3. OR...

IF you prefer to keep them as floor elements...you can use underlay of that floor looking up then use linework as shown below:

Hi RADOU,
Thanks a lot for the your comprehensive response and effort.
Really appreciate it.
I think that the 3rd option is the most prevalent solution and easy. I was of the notion that this can be achieved automatically in Revit somehow as its a standard practice to show overhead lines as hidden lines.

On the same note, the overhangs of the below floor are visible. Is there a way to get rid of them in the plan view?

Adjust the view rang (Set Bottom and view depth level to the associated level with 0 offset) and in the properties palette  remove any underlay

@Anonymous

can you highlight the associated level on a section? Which would the 5 FFL be? not the one cutting through the Overhang would it?

Highlighted is the associated level. Its the first floor plan and not cutting through the overhang.

Delete the plan view and recreate it from the View tab . Maybe it is acting weird from the many trials you did in it
