Revit window family graphics distortion when transitioning from generic model to windows category

Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a window family in my project where the graphics get distorted when I transition the family from a generic model to the windows category. Here's a detailed explanation of the problem:

  • Problem: I have a window family that was initially created as a generic model. When I place this family in the model under the generic category, it displays correctly, with all masking regions and linework showing as intended.
  • Issue: However, when I change the category of this family from generic to windows (as it needs to be), the graphics in my 2D views get distorted. Specifically, parts of the masking region do not display correctly, and the linework appears broken or incomplete
  • Strange Twist: Here’s the funny part—this issue doesn’t occur with another window family I’m using, which is circular. The circular window family is categorized as a window from the start, and all the graphics work flawlessly in the same project. So, I’m fairly certain it’s not a visibility or graphics setting issue within the project itself.
  • Goal: I need the family to be in the windows category (so that it is recognized correctly in schedules and views) while still maintaining the correct appearance in all views, especially the plan view. The model needs to display correctly without any distortion or broken linework after the category change.

  • I have already tried adjusting the visibility settings at the project as well as linework, but the issue persists. Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!(modeled in Slovak language but I assume that the parameters speak their own language at the end:)

I don't see any differences.  Here's how both look in a Plan View of a New Project:

What am I missing?

FWIW: Linework Pattern, Color and Weight is controlled by CATEGORY via Object Styles, unless Overridden in the View By Element, By Category or By Filter.
