Revit visbility question

I am working on a shared model with an Architect (I'm an engineer), so I don't want to cut up their walls/floors just as a work around to get my sections to show up the way that I want.

2 questions

1. they have their walls run full height, and not broken at the floor container. is there a way that I can override the floor container to show up infront of the wall hatching? Without making the walls 100% transparent. Same thing goes for the steel post that I have from the level above that I want continous through to the dropped steel beam. Is there a way to override that so it shows up solid and is easy to tell that post is continuous.

2. is there a way to fade the finishes/layers of the wall? I just need to see the stud and plywood for my detailing, so I'd like to grey out the other layers etc. I've tried doing filters but no luck.

So, they balloon framed instead of platform framed. Is that about the size of it? If so, why can't they correct it on their end?

...sure, there's all kinds of way to "fake it", but why would you want to?  It can easily be fixed - and should be IMO.

Model (or copy monitor) your own structural floors so that you can extend them to where you need.  Same with structural columns, so that you can attach their base to the beams instead of the floors.

In the long run, you and the architect should coordinate so his model is properly created.
