Hello,
I have Revit 2017 and some content libraries installed in a couple computer labs but I am hearing reports of users not seeing the templates. I have verified that there are indeed files in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\Templates and that the program knows to look in that folder for templates and in the Family Templates folder for family templates. I have two registry settings that look like they may be related but they appear to be set correctly.
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Autodesk\RevitContent\2017.0\RVT\C_Templates -- C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\Templates
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Autodesk\RevitContent\2017.0\RVT\RVT_FAMILYTEMPLATEPATH -- C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\Family Templates
When I open Revit and go to make a new project, the template drop-down is blank and when I browse I cannot get to ProgramData (since it's a hidden folder). If I show hidden folders then I can get to the templates and open them fine. I do not want to show hidden files in the labs though because they are used by a large number of users. Should the templates be showing in that drop-down and should the template folder open first when I hit browse?
Thanks.

look at the .ini file in the following location.
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2017\UserDataCache
Is it blank? If so, copy from
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2017
The entire file wasn't blank but the variables that set the paths to templates and stuff were. I copied a working .ini file from a different lab and things seem to be working now. Thanks!
It wont work for me, try something else.
