Revit takes long to open with PDF Links

Hi, I am working on a projects where we have to link a high quantity of PDF documents (most of them raster images). There are not many PDF documents linked in the project, but there are several instances of each PDF linked to  Revit views that we use as background reference in the project.

The issue we are experiencing is  that when we open the project, it takes a long time to open. Probably more than 5 minutes is not a long time, taking in consideration some of the comments I have seen in similar posts, but as the project continues developing, we may need to add more and more PDF or CAD files in our links, which it will delay the project more and more.

I was wondering if there is any way to speed the process to open the project.

Notice that once the project is open and running, the speed is reasonably normal.

We are using Revit 2022.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to check in and see if you found a workaround to this? I am running into the same issue.

Hi, It looks it is related to what type of links and the number of links. The more links, the longer It takes to load. In our case, our links were a vast amount of PDF images. There are no work around as today, I recommend to unload the links, just load the ones you need, or only load them when you have to print.
Thank you
