Revit Stairs - Overlapping riser lines

Can anyone out there advise me how to build in Revit the stairs I have mocked up in rhino in the attached screengrab?

When I attempt to do this in Revit it wont allow me to have over lapping risers.

The error messaging i am receiving is "highlighted lines overlap. Lines may not form a closed loop" and then "invalid sketch, can't create run by this sketch"

See attached the revit model with the closest I was able to get without it failing (looks pretty crumby).

Thanks!

Just increase the Structural Depth.

Nevermind. I just looked at your rvt.   Why not forget stairs and model in-place with a series of extrusions?  Or fill in with another mono stair (w/ deep Structural Depth), or with an in-place extrusion?

I could do that but they would no longer be stairs with all the parametric advantages that come with that fact.

Am i right in saying that there is no way to overlap ( or underlap) risers?

There is also the issue that a riser that shares a common edge with another riser (as is common in square spiral stairs) will cause the family to fail. The work round for that is having to set the riser slightly off corner which isn't ideal.

Are there not more effective work-arounds for these issues?

Also I didn't follow what you were suggesting when you referred to "w/ deep Structural Depth". Are you able to elaborate on that? Thanks!

Structural Depth is a property of Run type or Landing type.

The pool stair is best modeled in place.  There really aren't any built-in features of stairs that are critical for that model.

I get what saying, but I can't readily see the advantage of parametric pool stairs --- or any custom-built stairs for that matter.

Regarding Winder issue; it is an issue experienced by us all.  It's not you.

As for "Structural Depth"; it doesn't work on your stairs.  First thing I tried. That's why I scratched it out.

Ok thanks guys. Hopefully Autodesk are also aware of the headaches it causes.

Here is one with the steps aligned, 2 meters from yours.  I could probably make them joined if I have more time.

Keep it simple...

Stais 1, Stair 2.. Place it at same location.. don't make it complicated ...Stais 1, Stair 2.. Place it at same location.. don't make it complicated ...
