Revit Stair and Railing Help

Hello!

My firm struggles with using the stair and railing tools in Revit, resorting to detail lines and filled regions for almost all enlarged plans and sections. I realize this is relatively common but we feel like we are actively fighting Revit. We have some specific questions vs. very broad general knowledge. Is there a resource out there that can help our stairs to look as close to our standards as possible. Maybe someone that can directly work with our firm?

Thanks!

Thank you for the question @emmy.woodP7WPK and welcome to the Autodesk forum!

This question is a bit broad, so replying with some info on different areas you can get help on this topic.

Self-help

There is a lot of info on this topic available for review online. Here are some examples:

  • The Revit help covers basic information on these features: About Stairs / About Railings.
  • For more advanced workflows, see the following Autodesk University classes.
  • To see limitations, and discussions around dealing with them, see these Revit Ideas posts (also, please vote up the ideas you would like to see implemented).

Forums (that’s what this is)

After reviewing available self-help resources and trying out the features in Revit, if you are still not able to accomplish specific tasks, then you could post a thread (ideally with a sample model, explanation off what you are looking to do, and what is blocking this) to get feedback/guidance from the community.

Training / Paid customization

  • The Autodesk Services Marketplace is setup to help connect you to partners for professional services, such as training / customization.
  • If you are looking for onsite (or assistance from a more local resource), check for Autodesk Partners in your area.

If this doesn’t address the info you are looking for, could you reply with more details?
