Autodesk is a global software company in the United States that develops software for the architecture, infrastructure, transportation, retail, publishing, education, and entertainment sectors. The company's Revit building knowledge simulation program allows users to remotely experience the preparation, renovation, and management of a building before its construction. Architects, landscape architects, structural engineers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers, planners, and contractors use Autodesk Revit to build knowledge models. 

 

Autodesk Revit enables you to plan a building and its components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements, and view building details from the model’s database. The model can collect all relationships between modules, views, and annotations such that a modification to every feature instantly propagates to keep the model stable. You can build parametric components in a graphical "family editor" rather than a programming language. 

When you design a house, sculpture, or any object in Revit, the modeling engine produces a more accurate representation of what is otherwise a somewhat graphical representation model.
