Revit Server - speed up file retrieval and saving

Would installing Revit server help to speed up retrieving and saving project files that a group is working on?

If it's dependent on size of files and number of people and number of projects being worked on simultaneously what are the parameters for calculating when to use it?

If Revit Server is not useful for this, what is it useful for? What circumstances should it be deployed in?

Are you collaborating in-house or within multiple offices of the same company?

Sorry. I thought I had replied but I don't see the post.  It is all in one office, one LAN. Multiple people working in multiple groups on multiple projects.

Not worth it, IMHO.

Just set up a good fast LAN.
