Revit Server long term plan

What is Autodesk's position on the appliances Nasumi and Panzura compared to Revit server?  Is Revit Server a long term investment or is Autodesk looking for these other providers to fill this need.  We are looking to set up our remote offices on Revit server and A360 for external collaboration.  But I have a consultant telling me to use or consider these other products because Revit server is not here for the long run.   Any thoughts?

well Revit Server is free to use but does require IT setup and a Windows Server OS i can't comment on the long run of Revit Server

have you looked at Collaboration for Revit?

Thanks we have looked at A360 and do use it for collaborating with external consultants.  We were thinking Revit server for collaboration internall.  Save a little money...  Is Revit Server in wide use in the community?

While Revit Server and Collaboration for Revit have similar functioanlities, they are aimed at slightly different audiences.

C4R is better for smaller offices, offices who want to consult with other locations in the same company over super long distances, and offices who wish to collaborate with other companies in real time.

Revit Server Enterprise (name was changed with 2016) is geared mroe for enterprise type environments with dedicated IT hardware and staff.

But to your point, for the forseeable future Revit Server isn't going anywhere.

Thank you.  What about Panzura and Nasumi.  Is there a fast growing base for those?  It seems like more than is needed.

Sure it is, $100 a month per person $1,200 a year, everybody has that budget in mind.

I was replying to the A360 Cloud collaboration, but this forum seems to have lumped everything together.  $100 a month per user at $1200 annually for cloud collaboration thru Autodesk.  No company plans for a budget like that

If Revit Server goes away, the only alternative without forking over large amounts of money to Autodesk for Cloud Collaboration or Panzura or Nasuni is to setup centralized file with Remote Desktop accelerated with a NVIDIA big $$$$ video card.
