Hi I had a few questions in regards to a Revit Server. I read that the primary usage of a Revit Server is to allow multi clients computers to connect to it and work on the same project simutaneously saving to the server's central file. i would like to ask a few questions because I plan on building a Revit Server and just want to make sure I'm making the right choices for the hardware that will be used.. Thank you
1. I read that on a Revit Workstation, generally the Revit software uses a single processor so having a fast single processor would be more ideal than having a multi-core processor. Is this true?
2. On a Revit server, does it matter if you have a fast video card or not? I'm assuming it doesn't since its just a system used for multiple users to connect to files stored on the server. If that's the case, would you say configuring the hard disk to have maximum I/O would be the primary thing to concentrate on?
3. What server motherboard would you recommend for a Revit Server. I was thinking of building it based on a dual Intel Xeon E5-2697 2.7ghz, 12-Core processor.. so a totol of 24-Cores/48 Threads, 64GB RAM, SAS 10K RPM running on RAID-5.
Thank you...
