Revit Server Administrator - Silverlight

I'm trying to access our revit server through the administrator portal.

It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. Now it is asking me to install microsoft silverlight. I go to install the new version only to have it tell me that I already have the latest version installed.

I have uninstalled silverlight and reinstalled through prompt given when starting revit server admin but after new install I get the same issue.

What could be causing this?

Thanks all,

Ryan

Google Chrome browser is discontinuing support of Silverlight (and many other such "plug-ins" ).

Try using Internet Explorer--we ran into the same issue last week, and it works in IE.

( Have not tested Firefox or other browsers.)

I found the issue!

Problem:
We have detected you are using Google Chrome and might be unable to use the Java plugin from this browser.

Starting with Version 42 (released April 2015), Chrome has disabled the standard way in which browsers support plugins. More info

Solution:

As of Chrome Version 42, an additional configuration step is required to continue using NPAPI plugins.

  1. In your URL bar, enter:
    chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
  2. Click theEnable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option.
  3. Click theRelaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.
