Revit Section in Plan

Dear All,

I have a very strange problem with Revit section. Please find the attached Revit file with below problems.

In an attached file we have 23 sections which shown in schedule

YES, we are able to draw the new section in this file. But I am not able to view my old section in any of my plan view (except "Section 1"). Even i am not able to draw a section inside any one of my previous section. A general massage is coming, which was very common in visibility problems " you may want to check the active view its parameters and visibility settings"

Additionally if you copy paste this section any new project and change section family type with new type, but still it is not working.

I requested all expert that, please review this file before give your comments, because all basic investigation was done before post this topic.

Thanks,

PN

It is weird that all the old sections are missing their Phasing information.

I've had a look at the file and even tried to change the phases through Dynamo, but to no avail. Dynamo simple states the parameters doesn't exist.

I also tried to audit and upgrade to 2018, but nothing works.

I'm afraid those sections have become corrupted somehow.

Do you have a file version, where the sections still have their phase-parameters?

Aside from the phases I've found something else missing from the sections: the "Family Name" & "Family and Type" parameters.

"Section 1" has 85 parameters associated to it (Dynamo)

The other sections only have 81, the 4 missings ones are the 2 phase related and the 2 type related.

Maybe sent your file to Autodesk and let them have a look.

Try restoring an old backup, or open an old version ( before the sections became corrupt) and copy paste the sections into your project.

Also, check if you have a lot of Cad files imported or linked into your project and remove them as a test--sometimes they can be the culprit.

The file he uploaded is already purged of any excess data. So cad import won't be the problem.

Copying the sections will only work if they already existed in older files.

But either way, it's important we find out how and why these views became corrupted and how we could fix it without having to go back to older version.

Yes--but I have found that once they are corrupted, in most cases you must either re-create the views from scratch, and/or open an older version and copy/paste either the section itself, or the annotations onto your new section.

Autodesk may be able to find out why/how they became corrupt, but I'm not sure that will really add any value to fixing the problem and getting the project back on track.

Thanks all,

This problem stated from a corrupted template. In beginning if any user draw any section using this view template this Phasing information and section mark was not appear. Latter we are able to fix this floor plan section mark visible issue and start creating new section but old section have no solution.

Now the question, is't possible mistakenly an user can disappear the Phasing information form Revit. My understanding is Phasing information is system information.

Are there any Linked models? If so, is the Phase Mapping set up correctly?

Did the Template File have Phases in it which were different from the Project?

Hi,

We are not use any phasing in this project and the template setting phase system was excluded.

When you say you are "not using any Phasing"--does that mean that all model elements are on the Existing Phase? Or New?

( There is not a "no phasing" state in Revit; by default you have Existing and New Construction.)

I don't think it is caused by an user.  Recreate the sections and never ever use this template without a ten foot pole in the future .
