Revit's native miter tool - if I could control one aspect of its functionality..

Hi there!

Every day that I model in Revit, I almost always have to build a special fascia that has a limited vertical miter

as seen in the image below:

I typically use an in place void family to cut this fascia so that it just clips off the bottom 2 or 3 inches.

Since I do this all the time - I'd love to find out that there is a way to use the native fascia trimming tool in stead

of the cumbersome in-place solution I currently use.

Is there a way to control how deep the horizontal miter is cut?

You can trim the roof itself but not the fascia.  Bummer.

Actually you could stack 2 pieces of fascia like below.

I'm a little late in implementing your suggestion - how did you get the inner fascia (the larger one) to miter only partially?

There are actually one thicker on top (A) and one thinner underneath (B).   Their total height shall equal the roof thickness, or the height of one-piece fascia if it would be there.  (A) needs not be mitered.  (B) needs be mitered horizontally and fully.
