Revit Radial Array Problem - In-Place Mass vs Generic Model-In-Place...?

I am trying to do a FULL circle radial array to my In-Place Mass and realised it is not going with the Circle Line I want it to...

Whereas it works perfectly fine with Generic Model-In-Place...

Can someone please let me know what to do? I am so confused...

In-place mass do not respond well to some things, such as radial arrays. I see that the shape of that object is simple and it can be done easily as an extrusion. Then start a new family with the generic model template, and do that solid. Then load that family and do the array. That will work fine.

If you really need to do a polar array of a mass or adaptive form, it is better to do it as a repetition, using a circle as a divided path in a generic model adaptive familiy.

Thank you so much for your reply...!

Yes, I need to use thay specific Mass in-place...

May I please request you to do a snapshot or short clip on the steps you mentioned if I still need to use a In-Place Mass to do a full-circular array?

The part where you said, "as a repetition, using a circle as a divided path in a generic model adaptive familiy".

Mine is an In-Place Mass that is the issue... Hope to be able to array it IN THE PROJECT itself...

Thank you again!

Clipboard Cut/Paste the In-Place Mass into a New Conceptual Mass Template Family. Load Family into Project. Array.

I meant edit the In-Place Mass and Cut (or Copy) Mass Form to Clipboard. Start a new Family from the Conceptual Mass Template (Mass.rte) and Paste the Clipboard contents into this environment.   Is that what you did?  Doesn't look like it.

Hmm?  Should work. Post your RVT with the In-Place Mass here and let us take a look at it.

Array in-place components is never a good idea.  Create a conceptual mass family, load it in and array it.

1. Go to 3D View in your Revit Project

2. Show Mass Forms and Floors in View

3. Select Mass

4. Press Edit in Place

5. Select entirety of Mass Form via TAB-Select or Crossing-Window Selection

6. CTRL X or CTRL C -- or use the Copy or Cut tool on the Clipboard Panel of the Modify Tab

7. File=>New=>Conceptual Mass

8. In new Conceptual Mass Family environment, press CTRL V -- or use Paste on the Clipboard Panel of the Modify Tab.

Did you open the file I posted above?  That's your Project's In-Place Mass put into a Conceptual Mass Family.

Yes your family works. And the steps work. What I am actually disturbed about is why I am not able to do the copy and paste thing into the conceptual mass family from my in-place mass like what u did?

It kept showing me that error even now... Yes, ur file works, but I am not able to do the copying into the conceptual mass family on my own....

Yah, that is strange if you are absolutely certain you precisely followed my step-by-step instructions above and used a Mass.RTE.

Edit the in in place mass, select everything, Ctrl+c. Go to the mass conceptual family, Ctrl+v.
