Revit problem - export views to IFC

Hi!

We have some problems with exporting views from Revit to IFC.

Maybe you met this problem before and will be able to give us some instructions.

The situation is as follows:

We have so-called 'Host model' - model which has linked in live models in it.

We prepared views for each level we want.

We set proper visibility of categories & worksets.

We began export to IFC with settings as per below:

 IFC settings PM.png

And the result is:

  1. Generally: All of the elements are exported even those on hidden worksets...
  1. Structural model is exported correctly but not only required level but the entire building.
  2. Electrical model - model for entire building has been exported but not only electrical installations but walls as well - what is interesting - we do not have those walls linked in the host model - only in live models
  3. Architectural model - we cannot export the model - and do not know why - we had two situations:

a.) There has appeared unrecoverable error window - without any other information - the only option was - Cancel

Could you please advise?

Daniela

Hi @Anonymous

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community! Smiley Happy

Please try changing the settings as follows:

Setup the template and/or the views to show the linked files. Go to the view, type VG or VV (for visibility graphics) and change the settings as follows:

From host view, please change the setting to show 'custom'

Let me know this solves your visibility issues.

  • Make sure the IFC file contains the geometric data needed for the Revit capability that you plan to use. For more information, see About Imported Geometry.

Please feel free to send a file to test to troubleshoot further. I can send you a private folder if you'd like.

Hi Viveka,

I am having some issues working with IFC files.

I have checked your post, and when I try to link views from the IFC file, I can only see 3d views.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong.

could you please help me out_

Kind regards.
