Revit print to PDF using the Adobe Acrobat Pro printer driver - possible fix

Hi everyone. Not sure if this will fix things for you but worked for my users - thought you might like to know...

Software versions: Windows 10, Revit 2019 and Adobe Acrobat Pro/printer driver (all latest versions as of Feb 2019).

Issue: Revit print to PDF using the Adobe printer driver either prints once or twice or not at all, or sometimes gets to 3 progress bars or half way then hangs. No PDF output in any event. PS. Same thing happens on earlier Revit/Acrobat versions.

Fix (for my users): Check that there are no waiting or pending updates on your PC (especialy Windows 10). Get all the updates updated, then reboot your PC one final time to flush out the PC memory of any installation detritus.

I have noticed that if there are any Windows 10 pending updates, I get numerous issues with the higher level apps (Revit in particular). Reason? Don't know, I'm not an expert, but could be Windows installs some low level stuff then sets itself to pending mode, as it is usually waiting for a PC reboot before it can continue updating (mostly seems to happen with major updates, but also happens with some minor updates). The knock-on effect on higher level apps is not surprising, as the higher levels apps rely on Windows low level "stuff" to work properly.

Anyway, this fixed my users issues and Printing to PDF works fine. In a few cases I had to uninstall Acrobat Pro, run CCleaner to flush out the PC and registry of Acrobat Pro detritus and reinstall it.

It's agood idea to check your Windows updates for waiting/pending updates once a month or so in order to keep your PC functioning to it optimal abilities. Note: Office 365 updates and Adobe Flash updates can also cause problems for the higher level apps when the updates are waiting/pending a reboot.

Hope this helps if it fixes things for you :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:
