I have been using phases for a number of years and I teach at a college, and my students recently asked me a question that I really never thought about until now. But in Phases, why does Revit default to "Project Completion" instead of "New" in the Project Browser, even though it's listed in the Phase dialog box?
You have to manually change it every time in the Project browser.
Thanks

If you start a project from Architectural template then you have Existing and New Construction. If you start a project from Construction template then you have more phases including Project Completion.
If you only have two phase then you can have Existing and New. If you have more than that, are you going to have Existing, Somewhat after Existing, Little bit New but not that New, and New?
I personally use Existing, Phase 1, Phase 2, etc... because I find using New in the phase name is misleading, bit for understanding the concept of phasing if you are teaching students, it might be okay.
