Revit openings cant be phased

Hi - I have an existing wall which under the new proposals will have a opening created (no door) Using the Revit opening Tool the opening is formed correctly and is displaying in my Plans as proposed - however it has also appeared on my Plan as existing. If you cant phase the opening then what is the point of it and what is the best way of creating an opening in an existing wall that follows phasing.

Use an Opening Family, there are some basic examples in the current Revit content.

Thanks this works well. Why didnt they make the Opening on the fron screen ribbon work with Phasing in the first place???

The issue you get with using a empty door opening is that you retain both Rooms which is not what I needed. It seems that Autodesk hasnt given this any thought. The only way I can see of doing this is to split the wall and demolish the bit I dont need.

Cut Openings are actually geometry modification tools so they are not phased. If you want in place openings (for complex shapes), use model in place and add Cut opening button in there.
