Revit only shows Solid Blockout and no hatch

I am running Revit 2016 and whenever I create a Filled Region, it creates a solid white blockout.

I cannot get the hatch patterns i specify to show, only the white blockout that blocks out all imports, elements and catagories in my project.

I have checked visibility graphics and detail items is checked on aswell as all the boxes in the dropdown.

even if i create a new hatch pattern, the hatch pattern does not show.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you using a Masking Region vs a Filled Region?

Filled Regions you can change the Type in the Properties window...Edit the Type to modify the Fill Pattern you want, whether it's a drafting, model or solid color.  A Masking region doesn't give you any options to change the pattern.

First guess is you created a masking region instead of a filled region.

Second guess is that you've set the hatch fill to be solid white.

Third guess is that your view is set to such a tiny scale and made such a small filled regioin that you're only seeing a bit of white space between the lines of the hatch.

It shows both the filled region and masking region as the same element.

i have attached a picture of the example.

The top block is a masked region and the bottom block is a filled region.

the properties for the filled region are in the second pic.

The hatch type is not on solid white and the scale is 1:100.

This only appears in this current ,rvt file, if i open a new file, the hatching shows as normal again.

I think it can be related to visibility filters in your file.
