Revit not rendering custom made families properly

Hi all,

I'm having issues rendering a Theatre room I've created. The custom wall panels that have been made keep rendering white.
In shaded view, 3D view and any other view except Ray Trace and when I Render, they are all the colour they're supposed to be -- Black.
I'm new to Revit, but I'm learning fast. I've checked the render settings for the materials I've used on the families in the family editor, and they're all set properly as the colour I want them. The checkbox is checked for 'use render appearance'.

So I don't know what else I can try. I tried a different view template (see image) but this didn't work either....
Even the couch is rendering white, I just noticed. It's supposed to be black also.

Ok Few things. Setting your material in the family editor is possible. However you have to know that materials in the project take precedence over material in the family itself. So if you have a material CouchFabric in your project which is yellow and you have also material CouchFabric in your family which is black then when loading the family in the project them material CouchFabric will be....yellow.

In the material browser. The settings you make under Graphics determine the colors and patterns in shaded views.

The settings under the Appearance tab determine the material that will be used during rendering.

Thus you can have different colors in shaded veiws and render views

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
