Hi All,
I've a small issue with importing CAD files. I want to link my CAD file so that the WCS of the CAD file is at the Revit Internal Origin. It seems a simple enough task and I've selected the Auto - Origin to Origin option. However when the file links in it actually aligns the centre of the CAD geometry with the Revit Internal Origin.
I've done some testing and it works fine if I draw some geometry at the WCS in AutoCAD. If there is no geometry at the WCS the link is aligned with the centre of its geometry on the Revit Internal Origin.
I know the workaround will be simply to draw some geometry at the WCS but I'd like Revit to pick up the WCS point automatically.
Has anyone experienced this issue?

Did Revit give you any notification saying that the objects are too far away from the origin and center to center option will be used?
If the CAD is far from the WCS origin then Revit will place it center to center.
Hi All,
Many thanks for you responses on this. I've attached two cad files. The file that gave me the issue was 12823-01-3d_CAD_Link_No_Pspace.dwg. The geometry in this file is far from the origin and it goes centre to centre on insert as ToanDN suggests. There's no warning message to suggest that it will behave in this way though. I made a quick-file to test this with geometry 500m from the origin. This behaves as expected.
