Revit native to mac

Please develop a version of Revit that is native to Mac OS. Using Revit on mac is not as simple as just 'using Parallels or Bootcamp'. Hard drives must be partitioned and memory added. Plus running two OS's at once drains system resources from the machines. We will be forced to a native mac based program if Autodesk does not develop something soon.

Autodesk has already said they are not planning on creating a MAC version

This means Autodesk will need to re-write Revit from ground up inorder to create one for Mac. Recently Autodesk create Mac version of AutoCAD and it wasn't the same as the PC counterpart. It look and feel like AutoCAD, but the UI, feature & addon isn't. There are some exclusive feature for mac not found on PC. This cause so much confusion. So at the end people still stick with AutoCAD on PC. Imagine Autodesk did the same for Revit and you will end up with the same confusion.

I agree. There's lots of news lately about how fast M1 Macs are compared to Intel machines. Apple is focusing on making their machines run holistically and efficiently based on all components being Apple, not a hodge-podge of parts from many brands. Reports are showing the Macs using these setups are blowing conventional Intel machines out of the water. And folks need to get outta here with that "they don't have time to build it for Mac" argument. They are a multi-billion dollar software company. They can do it in a week if they chose to, and do it well. ArchiCAD runs on Macs, and you can design in perspective in ArchiCAD as well. No reason Autodesk can't do the same with Revit.

Adding memory and partitioning a drive doesn't sound like a hardship.

If they develop a Mac-version, there is the danger there are small differences and potential problems with shared files. IMHO, not worth the effort if you can use bootcamp.

And mac keeps changing the platform (to x86, away from x86 etc.). It would be a lot of wasted effort to develop a Revit and then Apple decides to use a different platform (again).

Maybe, just maybe, they have already decided not to waste time on developing old software for a different OS. Maybe they decided to invest that time on the next generation program(s) which may or may not include a Mac compatible version.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

How come GRAPHISOFT didn't have a problem making ArchiCAD for both PC and Mac with less budget as a substantially smaller company?

Why don't you ask them?

ArchiCAD has been with Mac and PC for over 30 years. So they have a foundation for both platform. As well they maintain the same menus for both PC & Mac. If you were to ask to write a 20 years Revit software to be function natively on Mac, it will be a total ground up approach. Tell me how are you going to write a software from group up and still maintain 100% functionality. It will be near impossible. Autodesk try the attempt with AutoCAD for Mac and the difference is vastly different to the point where PC is more widely accepted than Mac version.
