Hi, we have a project that has high redraw times
our models are like this
envelope model as the name suggests
Internal Model cores floors etc construcion on site
Module model linked in individual modules stacked up to form a hotel.
module files x 30 versions linked into the above.
so all are central model files and the module main model has these linked in.
this works fine. But i am getting complaints of high redraw times which we didnt have before.
we are using overclocked i7's 32gb min and min quadro k2200 cards
help much appreciated!
In my opinion you have broken up the building in too many pieces. One file with worksets for each different module is way too much. Such a division would be fine and necessary if you were doing a group of buildings in a large site. But for one building, that is too extreme. Consider simplifying the strategy, using groups instead of links for the units.
How "big" is the model?
How many links are we talking about?
Linked models are probably on the network?
Is the network fast enough?
Is there enough Harddisk space available to cache the model and ist it a HDD or an SSD ?
Quadro K2200 isn't a top range card.
ENVELOPE MODEL 112MB
INTERNAL MODEL 36MB
MODULE MODEL 6.2MB
THEN 30 MODULE FILES EACH 6.7MB LINKED INTO THE ABOVE FILE AND COPIED A FEW TIMES.
ITS ON OUR NETWORK 1GB LAN
WE ALL HAVE 500GB SSD HARDDRIVES AND K2200 CARD IS THE LOWEST SPEC. NOW HAVE P2200
EVEN SO THIS SEEMS LIKE IT SHOULD WORK.
WE ARE GOING TO MAKE AN ifc FROM THIS DATA AS IT WONT NEED TO CHANGE FROM THE END OF THE WEEK.
AND LINK THIS BACK IN WHERE NEEDED.
