Hello,
Please see attached screenshots for reference. I have a wood column in which I want a halftone "X" to display in cross-section. When working in the model and using "looking up" structural view, the "X" only displays halftone when the column is cut and not in projection. The lines were created in the family using halftone model lines. The post that is in projection is to be lineweight "1" as opposed to the thicker lineweight for cut views. This was accomplished through V/G line attributes for <beyond>. The attached screenshot shows the same post family being cut on the left and raised to be in projection on the right. You can see that the lineweight is thin for the projection view as intended, but the "X" in the middle is not halftone. I am trying to figure out why the color of the lines are lost when the view is cut below the post.
What Family Subcategory is the Model Line on? For instance, is it a Structural Column? Then what Subcategory of Structural Columns Category did you place the Model Line on? That's the Subcategory to look for under Project View' Visibility and Graphics Overrides.
Yes, the lines are subcategory "Structural Columns [projection]" although the issue seemed to occur no matter what subcategory I used.

Why then you are showing a screenshot of Subcategories of "Lines" under VGOs?
That was to show why the lines were showing thinner at lineweight "1" for projection. I'm wondering if that has something to do with why the color is not showing up correctly.

If the X is between Primary Range's Top and View Depth then it will show as Beyond line style. Without changing your family, just increase Primary Range's Top to capture the X.
Place the Model Lines in the Family on a Subcategory that you can control in the Project through Object Styles and VGOs. You can create additional Subcategories in the Family if you want.
