Revit locking up when Saving Family files

When saving families, Revit locks up, it seems as though the Save dialogue box is hidden or has not been launched. Hitting Esc brings Revit back.

I logged in to the PC as another user and found that there was no issue.

Thinking it was a profile issue, I deleted the AutoDesk profile information from \appdata\local and \appdata\roaming. Still no joy.

Also tried changing the UAC, still no joy.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Is this happening to all families or certain ones? If the latter upload a few (assuming you can). Where are you saving....network or local? Any difference if you save locally? When's the last time to cleared your Temp folder > Windows search, enter %Temp%, open Temp folder and delete all. Do this right after to start PC.

It's happening to all families. I have deleted all files in the Temp folder the Save still locks up. The Save window for Families does not appear so can not choose a location and the default is a local directory.

As mentioned in the original post, this seems to be user specific.

Hi @RichardWatson4847

I just wanted to follow up here, any progress on this issue?

I recommend you perform a clean install of the application, since this issue is user specific.
