Revit Linked Models Not Displaying In 3D View

Hi guys, Revit Newbie here.

I'm getting set up right now for a project which uses a shared cloud model amongst various designers. The cloud model has nothing in it yet other than a series of linked Revit models. The links display normally when viewed on sheets/floor plans, but refuse to show up in my normal 3D view.

All worksets are set to display, all Revit links have visibility ticked, and all models are loaded, to no avail. My computer has 32GB RAM and a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900 processor. Could anyone advise me on what to try to get it working?

I'll attach some screenshots of my settings for your info.

Thank you!

Have you checked if the linked file is in any of worksets?

If it's not, please try to reload the linked file.

Create a new 3D view? And / or compare the properties of the floorplan with that of the 3D view - where are the differences?

Hello @amalanZT8QC

1. As the other user said try if the WORKSET is visible in all views

2. Can you try and link a model using a local path?

3. Have you checked your view template?

4. How big is the model? I believe it could be a problem of showing many 3d objects at the same time...

Regards,

J

What are the view settings of the categories in the host view?

Hi @amalanZT8QC,

None of the Links show uhm...

below some items to check:

1. Phase settings (Phase Filter/Phase) of the 3D view (compare with the floorplan where the links show and match them.)

2. 3D view cropped or sectionbox set?

3. with crop and sectionbox off, zoom to fit if nothing is visible do a window cross selection across whole visible view, anything in selection, links? then there's a link/element with a large coordinate.

4. Has the 3D view all categories on / no filters etc..

I'm afraid I don't know as we don't really have access to the host models (without being frowned at, anyway). I suspect this was something to do with it though, as the manager of the host models tweaked something and everything displays correctly now. Thanks for your suggestion!

Hi all, thanks for your suggestions. I've tried all the above and I'm afraid none of it worked, but the problem is solved now. The manager of the host models (the models linked into our project) has tweaked something which he didn't give me much detail on, but that fixed whatever was causing the issue, and all the Revit links display correctly now.

I'm sorry that I am unable to give any more information, but I will accept the solution offered by @RSomppi as it seems to have been the issue. Thank you once again for your contributions.
