Revit linked model elevations not aligning with host model elevations

I linked a toposurface model to my building model. Both models start on Level 0 elevation so I assumed they would be aligned when I linked the toposurface, but my toposurface Level 0 elevation wont align with my building model Level 0 elevation and therefore is 'floating' way above the building model.

How can I resolve this?

Go to Elevation View and drag the Topsufurce down (or up, as the case may be) to where it belongs in relationship to the Building Model.  Acquire Coordinates and save.

FWIW: Level Elevations are either based on the Level's offset from the Project Base Point or offset from the Survey Point. Verify which method your Level is using by looking at the Level's "Elevation Base" Type Property.  My point is that one Project's Level 0'- 0" is not necessarily the same as another Project's Level 0'-0".

This is a normal behavior when linking a site topo in a building model.  Topo are created with point elevations related to the survey datum so they are often way up higher than the project Base Point / Level 0 in the topo file.  You can simply move it after linking in the building model to match with the building elevation and acquire coordinates then you will be good to go.
