Hi,
Im a project leader in an Architectural firm in Australia - Sydney. I have worked on very large Retail projects exceeding $1B. I have been in charge of coordinating teams of between 5-30 users. These projects have all been realized to full construction documents and completion using Revit.
The single most frustrating issue over the last 10 years of using Revit is that there is no protection of elements being deleted. And as you will be fully aware, when an element is deleted, so is all the tagging etc associated with it.
My wishlist for Revit future releases are as follows.
- a true layer or item "lock". Pinning simply does not work and is difficult to manage. AutoCAD has a very simply freeze or lock system that is a very easy and efficient method.
2. Option for worksets that can be "locked". - The workaround of logging out, then logging in as another user, then logging back in is time consuming.
Revit is no doubt a great tool, but in a large collaborative project the issues listed above are very difficult to manage.
Thanks -
