Revit - Import SAT -> Rhino - edge selection for sweep

Hi all,

In Revit 2015 (possibly 2016, but we skipped a year), pre-rhino import option, we were able to import SAT files, and when creating a sweep, I could select an edge of that import. Since 2017, and the addition of the rhino import, the simple edge selection for "Pick 3D Edges" is no longer available. Is there a workaround or a solution in the works?

I have used this to create unique windows curved in plan and in elevation with a curving transition from ceiling to floor. These are impossible to accomplish with curtain walls, believe it or not. And I'm not well versed in the more advanced adaptive families, and wouldn't know how to get this done. This simple functionality was a great workaround, but we're trying to get rid of 2015 and upgrade to 2019.

I'm willing to learn an adaptive families workflow, but if there's a solution that's simpler, I'd attempt that first.

You can pick faces for workplanes and pick edges on the workplanes in an in-place massing environment.

Update:  this has been solved in Revit 2019. No need for a workaround. You can now select edges of a .3DM import! Hooray!
