Revit Freezing

Lately I have had a few users experiencing a strange freeze up in Revit 2016. It appears that Revit has locked up and the only thing you can click or access is the R in the top left of the screen. From there we are able to close the files which will prompt us to sync our files. But there is no error generated. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there is any solution for this behavior. Again I have only seen this with the Revit 2016 version so far.

Not sure what is causing it but like i mentioned its not a total freeze. Revit still responds but only by clicking on the R file menu. I don't believe file size has anything to do with this.

divide your elements on some worksets and put each link in your file to separated workset then close the worksets you don't need

this may help in speed up the navigation and may help revit not to freeze
