I'm curious how you decided to use Revit? This is a significant purchase (license plus training and hardware). Are you also designing?

What exactly do you want to do? Facilities management is a broad term. Keep track of maintenance, determine upgrade strategies? Do you use other FM software in addition? I know a bit from my employer's FM side and can't imagine them using Revit for many reasons. It isn't really made for that and way to expensive (license, staff, hardware) to be used where a dedicated FM software would be more suitable. I'm sure someone smart can hack it and use for FM, but it will be a big work around for all users.

Revit version: R2025.4

Hi @D1Reyes ,

If you have any questions regarding Autodesk Tandem here is the link to our public forum space. You can also join our beta community here. Our beta feature, Tandem Connect, offers quite a bit of flexibility for FMs with large amounts of asset and IoT data that they wish to view in their model.

The benefits of using Revit, depend on how you use it.

The #1 thing is that it's easy to connect Revit to your IWMS/CMMS and have spatial data, etc imported in without needing to polyline like you do with AutoCAD files.

If all of your consultants are using models and doing collaborative design and clash detection, that's a big benefit. ... however, I've found many resistant to share, or some teams have the skills to do this and others do not.

There are some Revit threads here in this Facilities Management Forum if you want ideas about how others benefit:

Also, I recently did a presentation on Digital Twin for Facility Owners (digital twin being the new buzzword to sell Facility owner/operators BIM things they don't necessarily need 😉 )... just in case you might find that useful, there is a video available online. Unfortunately, the Q&A at the end got cut off, because there were a lot of great questions and comments from the attendees.
