Revit Family with CAD import showing color in model

Hello,

I am creating generic model families for each unit of a hotel project. In the generic model I am importing a CAD floor plan provided by the client. The problem I am having is when I load the generic model family into my project, the CAD drawing reverts back to showing it's colored lines, even though the imported CAD was set to black and white in the family. No matter what I do, even changing the CAD layer colors to black in Autocad, the colors still come through.

Any idea what I am missing on this one?

In project, expand Import categories > Import in families, then override them to black.

Whenever there is a new layer added to the CAD file, Revit won't automatically change those to black when you import. So you have to manually change them in the project environment. Also if you have a CAD object that is override by color or with a linestyle override in AutoCAD, Revit will not be able to override them in Revit through layers. So you have to force the override by object by element.
