Bobrick 2860 paper towel dispenser is not correctly orientated with 3D cube orientation. It will not let you insert product in floor plan, only in elevation.
Is there a way to reset the 3D cube to the family when your into the family model to edit?

It looks like it is a faced based family, hosted by a generic surface which in this case is a "wall". The face-based family template's orientation is entirely dependent on what the family is in real life. A ceiling fan is built upside down because the surface it attaches to is a ceiling, similar for an outlet or in this case the towel dispenser. It should be possible to put it on the surface of wall. You need to pay attention to the hosting options provided on the ribbon during placement.
The view cube itself will never be reconciled with this orientation consideration because it varies from family to family while Revit does understand the context.

It is a known glitch that has not been remedied.
Have the same issue with casework. I could model the casework backwards so that it shows properly in the properties window, but show backwards in a Windows folder/thumbnails or just deal with it being backwards in the properties window so the Windows thumbnails are correct.
Revit is all about Work Planes. It takes practice and the ability to circumnavigate the model. Don't hesitate to "create Views as a means of Setting your Current Work Plane.
If it face-based it should default to the Vertical Face option which should allow you to place it on a wall in a plan view. If you post the family we can take a look to see what's up with it.
