I've created a duplicated Level 0 - Floor Plan so I can make changes eg. floor ducts, however they show up on the original floor plan and I can't seem to work out why.
FYI I haven't used " Duplicate as a Dependent" I just used normal duplicate.
Could there be something with the families that I'm missing.

All you did was duplicate the view, the view is still looking at the same modeled content. if you want to keep existing content the same. Maybe look into Phasing or Worksets for the items your editing. another option would be Design Options.

You can just turn off the Ducts in the original floor plan w/ VG, and/or apply to View Template.
