Hi,

I have created a component called thread from which i am planning to make a threaded rod using line based detail family. When I use array command the label does not give any drop down option so that i can create a parameter for array. Please help.

Thanks,

if you change your view scale to 1:1 you will see the array shape control and the instance number

select the shape control and this will give you the label parameter dropdown.

After making the array, select one instance of the repeated items. a (dimension)will appear telling the number of instances of the array.Select it.now you will find the dropdown available.

Here, try this one. Parameter "n" controls the thread count based on Length and individual thread width (e.g. "Length/2.0").

BTW: You want to place 2nd one in Array at it's actual distance it is from the first one -- and "Append to End" so each subsequent thread will be added onto the last one.  You had your Array "stacking" threads, which may be because you selected "Last" for you second thread, instead of "2nd", and did not select "Append to End".

Thank you for the response, even after selecting the number the drop-down does not work. Thank you once again.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for the response. Your file is working as I wanted but still i cannot make it on my own. I created 'n' parameter but still the drop-down does not work. If you could kindly let me know the key steps, it would be grateful. Your help is much appreciated.
