Revit.exe error when trying to export pdf

getting this error when I try to export pdf.

 

revit 2024 24.0.20.20
20230509_0315(x64)
2024.0.2

 

autodesk support has suggested it's something to do with permissions or windows updates but I need something more specific: permissions of what? I have admin rights on my machine, so...

thanks, but this relates to 'printing' pdfs; I am 'exporting' pdfs (or trying to, anyway).

My problem relates to the native pdf exporter. I am able to print to pdf, but I prefer the native exporter as it's more efficient (when it works).

This is what I did that fixed my issue in Revit 2025

I had to Modify and Repair all C++ programs. 

Settings-apps-installedapps - search "C++" click the three dots then modify then repair. Do this to all C++ programs that allow it.
