Revit Error | Autodesk Revit has Stopped Working - Topics 2014-2018 versions

Hi Community!

 

Here is a thread on another hot topic and one of the most researched issues in the community.

When working with Revit, the following message is received: "Autodesk Revit has Stopped Working" 

 

Sharing a few articles from the knowledge network which discusses solutions for similar errors for Revit versions below:

To Try:

  1. If Add-ins are installed into Revit, does the crash continue with all add-ins disabled?
  2. Does the crash occur when the system is put into a simplified startup environment? How to perform a selective startup in Windows
  3. Disable antivirus and try launching Revit again.

Best practices:

  1. Clear all instances in the Windows Temp folder
  2. Periodically check the Desktop App to see if there are any Revit updates available.
  3. Install Updates, Add-ons, and Enhancements
  4. Improving performance of Revit projects
  5. Performance Optimization for Revit Models

Data we require to troubleshoot: (Private upload links to share files will be provided on request and preference of customer)

  1. journal files
  2. System Information (NFO) file
  3. Revit model and information if this issue is model specific and user specific (i.e, occurs on one model and particular user)
  4. Steps to reproduce (i.e, at what point did the crash occur - either when editing or working on something specific)
