hi @Anonymous,
For the given serial no are you trying to install 2017 or 2016 version.
for you need to specify for the version you are using to autodesk or else it may be considered 2017 by default.
happened to me earlier.
Regards,
Jebakumar
I'm a Revit technician and the serial number and product key listed are for Revit 2017. If your applications open and works but you do not have content please review the following links:
Revit: Can't find the Content Library
Revit: Templates and families not installed
If Revit 2017 does not open I would try a repair install
I hope this helps and let me know your results.
I followed the steps indicated on Revit Templates and Families Not Installled but did not reach a successful resolution. I tried to both the "add/remove" and the "uninstall/reinstall" solutions shown. Below are images of where I got in the last hour (nowhere).
There is a sporadic issue that will result in content not being installed via the Revit LT 2017 web installer. A required content file is not always included in the extracted files and its absence results in the installation bypassing Revit content files. We hope to have a resolution in place soon but until then, the following steps will allow you to work around this issue:

Based on your screen capture, it appears that you are trying to load the supplied XML files via the Add Content option. This approach will not work and you must copy the master.rlt.xml file to the C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Revit LT 2017\Content\Revit folder prior to launching the installation. I cannot see the full path to the Revit folder depicted in your screen capture but it doesn't appear to the correct folder because it is missing the master.xsd file.
Another suggestion would be to delete the contents of the C:\Autodesk folder, which will require new copies of the install files to be downloaded.

attached is screen shot showing the full path C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Revit LT 2017\Content\Revit with the master.xsd file.
I also deleted everything in the C:\Autodesk folder and went this route....still no luck.
This is very strange indeed as you definitely have the necessary files to populate the list of content packs in your Revit LT installation. Another thing to try is to delete the master.rlt.xml file from this location and see if that changes anything. If not, what is the home location setting on this computer? The answer to this question can be accessed through the Clock, Language, and Region settings in the Windows Control Panel.
