Hi,
Since this morning my revit crashes when I close a project. I found a post which looks like what happens to me, (the windows message screen, not the 'normal' revit crash screen) and followed the steps from that post: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/revit-2017-when-closing-a-file-revit-stops-w...
I found out that the site designer add-in causes the crashes, because when I move it, as suggested, revit stops crashing.
I downloaded and installed a new version for the add-in from my manage>products & updates>updates> Revit 2017 Site Designer v2 Enhancements
But also with the new add-in revit keeps crashing on exit of a project.
I have updated revit yesterday to the last version 2017.2.1 build 17.0.1128.0 > 20170419_0315(x64). Before this the site designer was already installed but never caused a crash. At our company I am the first one to update revit so i don't know if this will happen to other workstations as wel.
In the other post autodesk support asked to upload the journal file, I have added the last 2 and the dump file from the last crash in the zip file.
For now my problem is a bit solved, no more site designer
but maybe there is something more going on what you like to know.
Also having the same issues. Did you manage to find a full sollution?
Thanks,
Tom
No, but I didn't search any futher yet, was kinda hoping on a autodesk reply ![]()
But the case is still young, so I give them some time
Dear autodesk support,
I had the described problem with the add-in, which is still not really solved, I just deleted the add-in.
In the past couple of times I had a problem a reaction from autodesk support (you guys) followed quite quick.
This time, no reaction at all, only emails which keep on asking whether my problem is solved.
So now I am curious, did I do something wrong, to keep you from assisting me?
- Did I put the post in the wrong section of the forum?
- Did I not use the right steps to make clear I could not do anything more about it. I thought I followed the steps in the mentioned post.
- Is it the problem with the add-in, of which you can not always help with every add-in. What I would understand, but the site designer is an official autodesk add-in. I thought I would help you by reporting this problem, since it is possible that many users have this problem. (although there would be many more comments if that was the case)
- Or is it such a stupid problem that it is just now worth solving ![]()
Maybe a reaction on this comment ![]()
I also found it was the Site Designer ADD IN............. I removed all ADD IN's added them back one by one until it crashed on exit again and it was the Site designer that was the offending
I have the same problem. Has this been resolved? We need to use Site Designer. Dale
Hi,
No the issue has not been resolved, I gave up a long time a go. But thanx to you I found out the issue existed even before my post, found your other question at " Site Designer V2 for Revit 2017 not functional " Site Designer V2 for Revit 2017 not functional
I am afraid you have got your answer: instal revit 2018.
I don't think there will be no fix for 2017 now that 2018 is out.
Recently I have the same issue in both Revit 2018.3 & 2019.2. I took SiteDesigner addin out of the addin-folder and problem was solved.
Very strange because a few weeks ago I didn't have that problem, even though since then i haven't installed any updates of neither the addin or Revit updates...
Could it be some kind of interference maybe with another addin ?
greetings,
Davy
