Revit communicator

Hello all,

I am using BIM360 Design - free trial and I just set up the administration or I just thought that I did it right but maybe I did something wrong because when I open a project in Revit nothing happens in the revit communicator, no active projects pop up.

Additional information - I am using Revit 2018.3 version.

Can someone help please ?

Ivan

Hi,

Starting with 2018.3 version, Autodesk removed the communicator.  Maybe this is linked to the new BIM 360 Design setup compared to the previous TEAMS...  So no more communicator from 2018.3.

Hi, unless I'm mistaken, this link goes to a june 2018 publication and at that time, it was not 2018.3 version, but earlier.  Autodesk removed Communicator in version 2018.3 and following versions according to my sources.

Very interesting.  Does it work in 2019 also?  Because I have both 2018.3 and 2019, and it doesn't work on my end.  I was discussing that in another thread and they had the same source saying that it was removed...  All the better then.  How do we install it then?

"As of April 9, 2018, Autodesk® Collaboration for Revit® service is now Autodesk® BIM 360™ Design "

so obviously new users can't use communicator it will be available only for members with license already.

Is there something which replace the communicator in the new platform BIM 360 Design ?

That is what I was saying.  Since 2018.3, there is nothing to replace. Autodesk just removed it...  Unless like our friend here that could use it because he already had a Could account before the switch to BIM 360 Design...  I saw some people putting it as ideas on the forums for the next versions.

I guess that '' Worksharing Monitor for Autodesk Revit 2018 " does not work too for the new members, right ?

Maybe I Was not clear 🙂 , but it should work...  It is not on your end?  Are you sure you have the good one installed (the good year)?  Work sharing Monitor is not the most stable tool, but it gives a hint on what is going on...
