Depends on your needs. What I would say is that for manufacturer-supplied content, it's likely not the first choice.

 

There are a multitude of BIM hosting sites, with manufacturers uploading/hosting their content libraries to them. Bimsmith and Bimobject are ones I regularly interact with for the MEP world, but they handle all trades.

I haven't used revitcity in years. The vast majority of content on there is garbage. I also recommend bimobject, but just be aware that a lot of those families are going to be super bloated with manufacturer parameters that have nothing to do with putting construction drawings together. 

 

I usually default to just making families myself if there is the slightest chance I will use them more than once. That way I get exactly what I want and need. Nothing more, nothing less.

The website is pretty slow. Sometimes googles sends me there. 

 

Consider any family you get from someone else a STARTING POINT you need to edit to your needs. and often that includes de-bloating.
