Hi,
Firstly, I have a two storey house modelled sitting on a survey I have inserted using the Link CAD procedure.
However, I want to move the house.. So I ve tried unloading the survey then highlighting the whole house and moving it, but some objects move and some don't. I wondered what the best way to move a model is without leaving parts behind?
Also, I want to create Summer solstice shadow diagrams and have set the hours and days up etc. and copied my site plan 3 times to allow for the different shadow diagrams I want to show. But when I set up a new shadow and time etc. on a new site plan, the others change aswell. Why is this? I want to show shadows at say Winter solstice on one sheet, then summer solstice on another.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim.
hello, you can move your model by activating the PROJECT BASE POINT and keyin you coordinates and elevations and you can change clip state of point. thanks
You shouldn't need to move or rotate your model at all. Rotate True North and save each instance as a Site so that you can have different orientations of the building for shadow study.
Thanks but when I key in new coordinate just the axis moves, not the garage (model) that I want to move closer to the house.
Surely moving a garage can t be too difficult can it?
Tim.
See attached..just want to move the garage and collect all its components.

hello, sorry my understanding is you need to move the whole model. try to group the garage and move it to a new location. thanks
