Revit Architecture Model Segmentation

Hello

I'm busy working on a project. I have a main model from an architect. I'm working on 3 floors of the building, however i have to deal with the whole model.

Can anyone assist me in advising whether there is a way for me to "make a new model" by selecting what I want and basically making a new drawing from it.

Alternatively turning everything off except the segments I want.  Atm I am dealing with the entire model at once but only need a fraction of it.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what to do?

Thanks,

Kyle

So there are multiple ways to approach this. If you are just using the Architectural model as a reference...meaning that you will not be editing the model you received then you will need to control what you are looking at in your model. One good way to do this would be with scope boxes that just are focused on the areas you need to work on. The scope boxes can be applied to any view you create.

Depending on how the architectural model was set up there might be worksets you can turn off in order to just work on the portion you wold like to. This might need to be a conversation with whoever created the initial model and seeing if they are able to break the model up for you.

Hope this helps!

You can also create a new model from the original, add a new phase and use that to make your design.
With a Phase Filter you may show exactly the new design.
