The first image is a Plan View of your 2 walls.

 

Do you mean surface pattern in Elevation, or Cut Pattern in Plan?

Hi @Anonymous

It's more issue of cut vs surfce pattern and not 2d vs 3d.

in plan you ussually see the cut pattern then you need to change setting of this wall type cut pattern.

you can control your surface and cut patterns at the materials browser.

There are many ways to control object visibility it's only a question of what you want to do..

Hi @Anonymous

Go to:

Wall-edit type-under structure line choose edit - select wall material to open material browset (see attached image) - then change pattern at cut pattern (as you can see in my first post).
