Hello, we are a 3PL Warehousing company in Canada. We have 7 warehouses totaling 1 million square feet. We are looking at the possibility of having someone digitize our warehouse spaces, which includes dock areas, aisles, racks and bulk spaces into a 3D model. We then want to take this 3D model and assign values to the bin locations in the rack and bulk areas to bin locations in our Warehouse Management System (WMS), and then use PowerBI to do things like What if Scenarios, Show me where Customer A's product is and all sorts of heat map and capacity report analyses. Is Revit the right tool? Once we get the Revit file from the vendor who scans our wareheouse, does Revit have the ability for us to assign database values to objects that represent a bin location for example? Are there other AutoDesk tools that could assist with this?
Yes, Revit is a database so it will be possible to get data and visualize this in PowerBI.
You will have to consider the level of automation. Easiest will be to export csv files from Revit and then read/visualize those in PowerBI. See for example this Youtube movie.
There are add-ins that can help you with the process in Revit

It might also be possible to read directly from the Revit database however then it gets complicated, because then you will need to find out how all the Revit tables are interacting with eachother.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
