Revit access/functionality on a tablet ?

Hi, this is something that I know pretty well nothing about - and this may not be the best forum for the questions, but here goes.

I am looking into finally getting a tablet - but it will principally be for mobile access to files on the fly. I have seen Autodesk360 operate, and it seems great. Is there any similar form of functionality with Revit on a tablet ?

If so, to what extent ?

Ideally just the ability to browse the model and existing views would be very helpful - but if there is any additional functionality, all the better.

I have seen a few demos that suggest this is possible, but I'm not sure how, or what additional apps are required (or the cost).

Is there are requirement for either iOS or Android ? (or can either work ?)

Any recommendation for the tablet / manufacturer.

I have no particular preference for either Apple or Android, as I have never owned either previously (even on phone).

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Martin

Many thanks for those suggestions - I'll look into each of them.

One quick query - I have seen the BIM 360 Glue app linked, can this be used as a 'Free' standalone revit viewer, or does it need to be used in conjunction with the BIM 360 Glue package (and associated subscription).

I guess that you could also generate DWFs for each view (including 3d) and allow those to be viewed on a tablet ?

The workflow that we would like to achieve is:

To be able to open and view the model on site

To be able to open and view individual views (2d and 3d)

To be able to comment as an overlay on each view

To be able to collate and pass those comments on to the main office so that the model can be worked on

Then be able to access updated views on site again

We would also like to do this at no cost for the moment. I realise that to have an integrated managed process we would need to pay for a complete form of document management, but as we are feeling our way into this, something to test the process and usefulness is really where we need to start.

Any ideas would be appreciated,

thanks

Martin

BIM 360 Glue would be a solution but this isn't free
