Hello
My problem is that with previous versions revit has been able to create sharp shadows in elevations with realistic material mapping ea. using .jpg tile texture or wood cladding in elevations. This was possible when using "realistic" model display.
Now in revit 21 I'm not able to create the same visual style. Instead of creating sharp shadows like in "hidden line" "shaded" or "consistent colors" the problem is that "realistic" view creates soft and more realistic shadows. This is a very nice feature to have but is it still possible to create the good old sharp shadows while using realistic material display in elevation views. I could not find any solution for this in the Graphic display options.
The sharp shadows are an important feature for understanding elevation drawings. Now a lot of information is lost in the views because the shadows are much too blurred. Especially height differences in the elevations are harder to read.
You can see the difference in the shadows in the attachments. "capture1" shows the soft shadows created in Revit 21 and "capture2" shows the sharp shadows that still existed in Revit 18
